PDP Rejects N151 Fuel Price, Hike In Electricity Tariff…Says APC Is Punishing Nigerians
The @OfficialPDPNig vehemently rejects the fresh increase in the price of fuel to N151 per liter and electricity tariff to N66 per kwh under the @OfficialAPCNg and its government, describing such as callous, cruel and punishing.
The party demands an immediate reversal of the prices to avert a national crisis, as the increase will result in upsurge in costs of goods and services and worsen the biting hardship being faced by Nigerians, who are already impoverished and overburdened by @OfficialAPCNg -imposed high cost of living in the last five years.
Our party asserts that by increasing the price of fuel from the N87 per litre it sold under the PDP to an excruciating N151 while at the same time allowing the hike in electricity tariff from N30.23 per kwh to over N66, the @OfficialAPCNg has left no one in doubt that its agenda is to inflict pain and hardship on Nigerians to satisfy their selfish interests.
The unjustifiable increase in the price of these essential supplies, coming barely a week after the @OfficialAPCNg brazenly posted a support for fuel price hike, while attempting to rationalize the excruciating hardship being suffered by Nigerians under the @MBuhari administration, has further confirmed that the @OfficialAPCNg is at the center of the harsh policies of the @MBuhari Presidency.
It is distressing that the @OfficialAPCNg administration increased the cost of essential commodities at the time the leadership of other countries are offering palliatives to their citizens to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is instructive to add that our nation is doomed under the @OfficialAPCNg watch.
We know that the @OfficialAPCNg is an unfeeling party but it is indeed shocking that it could go to the extent of approving such a hike at this trying time, when many Nigerians are struggling to afford staple foods and other necessities of life.
Our party challenges the @OfficialAPCNg and the @MBuhari administration to publish the parameters with which it arrived at the increase of fuel price to N151 per liter given that with the prevailing values in the international market, the appropriate price template for domestic pump price in Nigeria ought not to be above N100 per liter.
Our party further challenges the @OfficialAPCNg-led Federal Government to publish details of its sleazy and over-bloated oil subsidy regime, including the involvement of APC interests in the claimed under-recovery for unnamed West African countries, running into trillions of naira, while Nigerians are made to bear the burden of high fuel costs.
Moreover, the APC and its government have failed to allow an open investigation into allegations of fuel price overcharge as well as the fraudulent subsidy regime through which over N14 trillion had allegedly been frittered by unscrupulous individuals in the APC.
Our fear is that the @OfficialAPCNg is pushing Nigerians to the wall with its obnoxious and anti-people proclivities and we caution that nobody should misinterpret the peaceful and law-abiding nature of Nigerians as a sign of weakness.
Our party therefore restates our call on the @nassnigeria to save the nation by calling the @OfficialAPCNg and its administration to order before they plunge our nation into chaos.

The gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded Edo election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has declared that he is ready to work with his victorious opponent, Governor Godwin Obaseki.
Ize-Iyamu disclosed this during a press briefing on Wednesday.
He also had a closed-door meeting with his party’s caretaker chairman and governor of Yobe State, Mallam Buni and Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State in Abuja.
Ize-Iyamu at the press conference said: “We are going to talk to everybody, we will bring everybody back. I want to salute my brother, the governor of Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki. I am appealing to him to return to the party. In every family, there must be a disagreement.”
Let it not be said that it was this disagreement that pushed him out of the party. I made the mistake before and I have come to realise that it was a grievious error and I would not want him as a senior brother to make the same,” he added.
Furthermore, Ize-Iyamu asserted he is appealing to him to come back to the party where he truly belongs saying
“In APC, he’s recognised as a leader but the new party he is, it will be difficult for them to accept him(Obaseki) as a leader.
“So I am ready to work with him and all well-meaning Edo people. We believe that it is time we bring peace to our state, ” he concluded.

Ondo Election : There Is Gang Up Against Us – State APC Spokesman

The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ondo State, says it has uncovered plans by some political parties to employ crude means to destroy the image of the party, ahead of the Oct.10, gubernatorial polls.
Mr Alex Kalejaiye, the state Publicity Secretary of APC, made the allegation in a statement on Wednesday in Akure.
“The unholy alliance is informed by the fact that the political parties perceive APC as a common enemy because they are jittery over the rising profile of the ruling APC, on account of its performance.
“To achieve this, it was further gathered, the parties are to lay at the doorstep of the ruling party all forms of violence and acts of thuggery that will be carried out by their sponsored agents.
“As a responsible and responsive political organisation, the APC appreciates and it is committed to peaceful campaigns and rancor-free gubernatorial election. The party abhors anything that can inflict pains on the good people of the state,” Kalejaiye stated.
He tasked all security agencies in the state to be vigilant and ensure that perpetrators of any form of destructive acts, and violations of positive conduct were handled with all seriousness.
According to him, APC encourages other political parties to tow the path of peace, and caution their members to discard an untoward attitude of hooliganism and recklessness in their operations.
“Political leaders will do well to avoid making inflammatory statements that are capable of spurring their followers in unjustifiable and uncivilised actions.
“The best way to win over the electorate is to sell programmes of various parties, convince them of ability to deliver on campaign promises, and appeal for their understanding and support,” he stated.
The APC spokesman, therefore, noted that the party would always crave for genuine development of the state, through massive infrastructure boosting and industrialis-ation.He added that the current uncommon interventions in the agriculture sector would be sustained.
