“DADDY FREEZE IS WRONG” – BEN AKABUEZE
It is Biblical for A wife to submit to her husband
Director-General of the Budget Office and a Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has tackled On Air Personality, Daddy Freeze on his comments concerning the role of a wife in marriage.
Freeze had argued that a wife needs not be submissive to her husband, Akabueze disagrees, stating that Freeze is very wrong and is turning the scripture on its head.
Akabueze made his feelings known in a facebook post…
Daddy Freeze has a penchant for using his eloquence and media reach to peddle wrong interpretations of scriptures, as he has done in this case. My fear is that many are thereby being led astray, and that is why occasionally I intervene to point out his error.
Apostle Paul likened the relationship between a wife and her husband to that between the church and Christ. Freeze’s argument about mutual submission would therefore imply that the church and Christ are also to submit to one another! This cannot be. Only the church is to submit to Christ, and not vice-versa.
Christ loved the church (ie, the people), and gave His life for it, even before it submitted to Him, and continues to love it regardless. Therefore, a husband is not to make submission a pre-condition for loving his wife. Neither should the wife make her husband loving her a precondition to submit to him (as Freeze preaches). Husband and wife will each be judged separately when they die, and none can excuse his/her own disobedience to God’s word by the other person’s failures.
A woman who truly desires the best out of her marriage should embrace the scriptural injunction to submit to her husband. This is what Apostle Peter wrote one the same subject – 1 Peter 3:1-2 AMPC
[1] In like manner, you married women, be submissive to your own husbands [subordinate yourselves as being secondary to and dependent on them, and adapt yourselves to them], so that even if any do not obey the Word [of God], they may be won over not by discussion but by the [godly] lives of their wives,
[2] When they observe the pure and modest way in which you conduct yourselves, together with your reverence [for your husband; you are to feel for him all that reverence includes: to respect, defer to, revere him-to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and, in the human sense, to adore him, that is, to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband].
Submission is not a dirty word. It does not make the woman inferior to the man in any way, after-all they were both created in God’s image – Genesis 1:27 AMPC [27] So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them.
However, for good order sake, God has ordained that the husband be the head of the household. Remember the saying that there cannot be two captains in one ship?
If Freeze were to study Ephesians 5 in some other versions of the Bible than the one he read from, he would find that verse 18 to 21 is one continuous sentence, in which Paul was addressing the entire church. The injunctions for husband and wife then begin from verse 22 and end at verse 33.
I strongly recommend the following passage of scriptures to Daddy Freeze:
2 Timothy 2:15-19 AMPC [15] Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth. [16] But avoid all empty (vain, useless, idle) talk, for it will lead people into more and more ungodliness. [17] And their teaching [will devour; it] will eat its way like cancer or spread like gangrene. So it is with Hymenaeus and Philetus, [18] Who have missed the mark and swerved from the truth by arguing that the resurrection has already taken place. They are undermining the faith of some. [19] But the firm foundation of (laid by) God stands, sure and unshaken, bearing this seal (inscription): The Lord knows those who are His, and, Let everyone who names [himself by] the name of the Lord give up all iniquity and stand aloof from it.

Petrol scarcity may surface across the country as the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners on Monday ordered tanker drivers nationwide to halt operations beginning from Tuesday, September 22 , 2020 .
NARTO gave the directive in Abuja in protest against the Federal Government’ s ban on petroleum trucks above 45 , 000 litres from plying Nigerian roads .
NARTO is the umbrella organisation of all commercial vehicles owners in Nigeria engaged in the haulage of petroleum products , general cargoes , and movement of goods and passengers within the country and the West – African sub- region .
Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja, NARTO’ s National President , Yusuf Othman , said members of the association would have to park their trucks on Tuesday and Wednesday as a warning to government against the abrupt ban .
He said , “ NARTO received with grave shock the recent government decision to place immediate ban on all petroleum trucks above 45 , 000 litres capacity from plying Nigeria roads . ”
Othman said the sudden ban was highly insensitive and unappreciative of the efforts NARTO members in the sensitive distribution and supply chains of petroleum products across the country.
He said none of the major transport companies across the country could continue any form of operations with this policy within this short time frame , adding that if the ban was not lifted , the association would begin a full blown industrial action .
The NARTO president said , “ In view of the above , we are therefore constrained to allow the decision of all our members to park their trucks as from tomorrow, 22 nd to 23 rd September , 2020 , to prevail as warning .

Secret U.S. government documents reveal that JPMorgan Chase, HSBC and other big banks have defied money laundering crackdowns by moving staggering sums of illicit cash for shadowy characters and criminal networks that have spread chaos and undermined democracy around the world.
The records show that five global banks — JPMorgan, HSBC, Standard Chartered Bank, Deutsche Bank and Bank of New York Mellon — kept profiting from powerful and dangerous players even after U.S. authorities fined these financial institutions for earlier failures to stem flows of dirty money.
U.S. agencies responsible for enforcing money laundering laws rarely prosecute megabanks that break the law, and the actions authorities do take barely ripple the flood of plundered money that washes through the international financial system.
In some cases the banks kept moving illicit funds even after U.S. officials warned them they’d face criminal prosecutions if they didn’t stop doing business with mobsters, fraudsters or corrupt regimes.
JPMorgan, the largest bank based in the United States, moved money for people and companies tied to the massive looting of public funds in Malaysia, Venezuela and Ukraine, the leaked documents reveal.

Rukaiyatu Abubakar is one of four current wives of Atiku Abubakar, vice president of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007. In 2006, Nigerian anti-corruption investigators accused Atiku Abubakar of fraudulently diverting $125 million of state revenue to private interests. U.S. prosecutors also alleged that a Louisiana congressman tried to bribe Atiku Abubakar to help a Nigerian technology company. Atiku Abubakar has never been tried in court and denies wrongdoing. Rukaiyatu Abubakar has not been accused of wrongdoing.
On March 5, 2012, Rukaiyatu Abubakar’s Guernsey Trust Company Nigeria sent more than $1 million to a company in the United Arab Emirates, Tanjay Real Estate Brokers. (GTCN exists to “manage a blind trust” for Atiku Abubkar’s benefit, according to documents received by the U.S. Senate.) Habib Bank Limited in New York filed a suspicious activity report, citing Atiku Abubakar’s history of alleged corruption, after its Dubai office received the payment. The bank’s Dubai branch explained to the office in New York that the payment was to buy an apartment and that the Dubai branch was “unaware of any existing relationship or affiliation between Tanjay and the Abubakar family.”
Habib Bank reported the transactions because they “crossed multiple high-risk jurisdictions” and because “public sources revealed that there have been numerous investigations of Mr. Abubakar … linking him to corruption allegations.”
SARs reflect the concerns of compliance officers and are not necessarily indicative of criminal conduct or other wrongdoing. The Abubakars didn’t respond to an ICIJ request for comment sent to Atiku Abubakar’s spokesman.
