Suspected kidnappers have attacked two bus -loads of Federal Road Safety Corps officials at a location in Nasarawa State , killing two officials .
An unknown number of the operatives were said to be missing .
The officials were on their way to a state in the South – East on Monday when their vehicles came under attack from the gunmen .
The Corps Public Education Officer , ACM Bisi Kazeem , confirmed the incident , noting that efforts were ongoing to rescue the abducted men .

The Borno State Police Command has confirmed the killing of its officers by suspected Boko Haram insurgents in the Baga area of the state .
The ambush on the convoy of the Borno State Governor , Babagana Zulum , on Friday left about 30 persons dead.
The governor’ s convoy was said to have been attacked between Monguno and Baga areas of the state .
It was learnt that the governor had left Maiduguri for Baga to prepare for the planned return of internally displaced persons from Maiduguri to the camps in Baga.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state , Edet Okon , in a statement issued on Saturday said eight policemen and three other members of the Civilian Joint Task Force “ paid the supreme price ” .
The police spokesman added that 13 other persons sustained various degrees of injuries.
He said , “ On 25 th September , 2020, about 12pm , the security convoy who were heading to Baga in respect of Government’s effort to relocate indigenes of Baga to their ancestral home came under heavy gun attack by Armed Men suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists a few Kilometers from Cross Kauwa .
“ In the ensuing gunfight, however , casualties were recorded on both sides . Unfortunately , eight Policemen and three members of the Civilian Joint Task Force paid the supreme price
“ Thirteen other persons sustained various degrees of injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment .”
Okon quoted the Commissioner of Police, Bello Makwashi, as assuring members of the public that “ the Force will not relent in providing the needed security for the good citizens of Borno State at all times. ”

The Multinational Joint Task Force has rescued 12 hostages from Boko Haram /Islamic State of West Africa Province .
The ambush of the terrorist group by the soldiers and subsequent rescue of the hostages were on Thursday .
A statement by the Chief of Military Public Information, MNJTF , Colonel Muhammad Dole on Saturday read, “ Battle heat continues to exact pressure on the ISWAP /Boko Haram terrorists along the fringes of Lake Chad Basin.
“ Acting on credible information on the intended relocation of the insurgents to another location , the troops of Sector 2 ( Chad ) , of Multinational Joint Taskforce laid an ambush against the insurgents at a vantage location near Barkalam .
“ During the offensive operation, three canoes were capsized leading to the death and arrest of some terrorists, while others sustained various degrees of injuries .
“ Aftermath of the encounter , 12 hostages were successfully rescued from the BHT /ISWAP captivity. The rescued persons comprised one male adult , three women , and eight children .
“ In line with its policy of safe transfer of surrendered insurgents and rescued hostages , the Headquarters , MNJTF used a helicopter to facilitate their movement from Baga Sola to N ’Djamena Chad. ”

Seven Policemen, Three Soldiers Killed As Boko Haram Terrorists Attack Borno Governor, Zulum’s Convoy
The convoy of Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State was again attacked on Friday by Boko Haram terrorists along the Baga Highway in the Northern part of the state.
The convoy was heading to Baga town ahead of government’s planned return of internally displaced persons from Maiduguri when the incident happened.
The attack comes barely two months after Zulum was attacked around the same axis by the insurgents on his way from Baga.
The area is believed to be dangerous and has recorded many abductions by the terrorist group in recent times.
A splinter group of Boko Haram sect, the Islamic State of West Africa Province, is believed to have a stronghold in the area.
The governor was not part of the convoy as he travelled by helicopter but about three soldiers, seven policemen were killed while an unverified number of people were injured.
The attack, it was learnt, happened at about 12pm some kilometers away from the Multinational Joint Task Force headquarters in Baga.
